A TV series based on terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. Pretty excited little fantasy freak right here :)

I vaguely recall reading the first two or three books in the series.  Looking forward to the series!

Recalling that this show was coming up, I checked for showtimes; I'm afraid they're cruising towards obscurity.  The premiere episode will be shown at 11:35 PM Saturday night, 1 November, with the following episode the same time the following night.  The only more obscure time they could have picked would have been even later!  It would appear that the broadcasting network has already assumed it will fail and doesn't want to waste a reasonable time slot on the show.  Boo!!  Let's hope that lots of people program their DVRs for this so that it shows decent viewership.

Well, I've watched the first three episodes, and I'm sort of lukewarm over the series.  The premise is good and the production values are at least commensurate with a weekly TV show, but I can't really invest in the characters.  Zedd chews up every scene he's in; I thought I'd relate to him better, but he's a bit overbearing and his one line "wisdom" counsels are just too trite.  I suspect that a lot of my misgivings come from the fact that the dialogue sounds lifted from a current day drama.  There's no exotic quality to the words or their delivery.  Still, I'll continue to watch it, though I suspect it's going to have a short life.  I'll give it 3 stars out of 5.......just average.

Did this ever hit Australian TV? I only found out about it recently, and have just started re-reading the series (there have been a few books released since last time i read through them hehe)? Or do we have to resort to the hazy grey area of tv downloads?

Bob, google "legend of the seeker in australia" and you'll get numerous hits including several forums discussing the show.  All the episodes are available on hulu if you have a reasonably fast internet connection.

I was a fan of the books, but I think this show is a complete disaster. I manage to watch only the first 10 minutes, it was so badly directed it was nauseus, and the actors are terrible.

I prefer to read again the books, with my imagination, not THIS
