Hey Fiona! Just sending you a quick message that I'm now nearly 3/4 of the way through Odalisque, and loving it so so so much. I love the setting especially, because it feels so new and exciting. What I really want to congratulate you for is something that's really quite a first for me, and now that I think about it, is a little weird. For the first time ever while reading ANY book, I writhed. I've never felt so faint and uncomfortable than when I was reading the particular part where Kett gets the stint pulled out. It makes me shiver just thinking about how it was written. So however weird it may be, I'd like to congratulate you for getting a physical response from me. Yeah, weird, I know... I'll post here again once I'm done, to let you know my thoughts on the first book, and then when I've finished book 2. Thanks again for another great series. Link :-)

Hey there Link Glad to hear you writhed. I know I won that response from quite a few male readers so it makes me smile and feel only slightly guilty for dreaming up such a ghastly scene! I'm thrilled that you're enjoying the Percheron setting. I loved it too and have since written a short story based in Percheron featuring a new set of characters in a bath-house. It's got endless possibilities for me. Anyway, keep enjoying. Emissary is less claustrophic as the story widens out of the palace. I'll look forward to hearing. F

Hey Fiona, Just sending you a quick message to say I finished Odalisque, and I loved it!!! I loved the ending especially, where Pez leapt off the temple's roof. Very dramatic, and even cinematic, if I may say so. When I read, I read in widescreen with surround sound and special effects, so in my mind, this ending was perfect for another fantastic book. As I said in that other thread, I'll be reading another book first, but then I'll be moving on to Emmisary (and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens) Can't wait to read book 2, Link
