Great news Steve. Sounds exactly what you need to push you along. You won't need anything to read now while you're recovering - just a laptop so you can keep writing.

Does this mean I'll finally be able to get beyond chapter 2 now?

Most you probably don't know but i am working (actually not working.. more lazing) on a novel called "The Veiled Ones" the good news is this. Today TAFE rang me (I am doing a professional writing course) to discuss my negotiated project... so over the enxt 12 months I will have a tutor advising me on my novel. I write, submit and receive feedback as well as my associate diploma (can't forget that) on "The Veiled Ones" so I guess I better get my back side in gear and rewrite this first draft.

Next year I will be attending Bryce Courtney's writing workshop in Tasmania ( I must ask Fiona for the details) and hopefully by then the novel will have had its various redrafts and been to Edit or Die and be as ready as it ever will be so I can work on fresh material for Bryce.

So this rant is to let you know I will continue to write and also make me commit to finishing this project.

Stuck on rewrite of chapter 3 but hey I gotta move on.

I know alot of people are wishing me luck and have faith in me. I just wanted to share the progression of good wishes into action.

Fiona has actually seen my writing in the past and recognises like I do it needs lots more work. And it will be no surprise to you all that she encourages me like she encourages most of you to live your dream.

I am thankful for her support and her encouaragement and I hope never to disappoint the lovely Fiona.

Several people have believed in my writing but none want to see the Veiled Ones in print more than Fiona and I... isn't she just the most wonderful human being?

Good work, Steve. :multi Thrilled for you.

Sounds like the TAFE thing is brilliant. I wish they'd offer something like that here... well, not that I've enquired or anything.

Fiona is disgustingly fantastic, isn't she?<img src=">

Dragon gal I am hopng you will buy 50,000 and I was thinking a cunning plan would be to leave chapter 3 out... then make everone buy it again with the inserted chapter 3 what do you think?

It is the only way I can think of preventing BH seeing that chapter 3.

cya on the flip side!

Great job, Steve!! I wholeheartedly agree with telling people about your plans. It really helps to keep you motivated. Let us know how the writing course goes. I'm curious how much feedback they give and how uesful it turns out to be.

Are they specializing in SF/F? Or do they cover the whole spectrum?

Write on, brother!

Brad.

Brad they cover the whole spectrum but some of the tutors are supposed to know the genre. I doubt it very much but any help is better than none.

By the way gang... Brad is a brilliant writer and I suggest if you ever get the opportunity... read him one day he is going to be huge.

Who do i compare him with did I hear you ask? Well did anyone ask?

Brad in my opinion... is going to be as great a writer as Jack Vance and China Mieville in time. I know i am putting pressure on the poor guy. But I believe it to be the truth.
