Fiona you were amazing last night.
Oppps I better explain.
The Saint, Serendipity, Flea, Tabitha and I, all witnessed the the lovely Fiona, talking about her life, her books and her writing style and process. One person said "she is amazing" I merely gave aknowing smile. Another one falls under the McIntosh spell.
Of course the world got to here about Work In Progress.
I won't give away the plot of Myrren's gift or anything like that. But, I can tell you all that it looks like a winner and it is very intriguing.
I know you will all enjoy "The Quickening" I heard a snippet of it, and all I can say is "WOW!" The opening is awesome, spooky, magical, wonderous, terrifying, beguiling, emotional and the writing is brilliant. That all in a few hundred words, tells how Fiona has developed as a writer.
You will all be as spellbound as I was. As I still am. I cannot wait to read this book. We are in for a treat.
Thank you Fiona.

I agree with Soldierblue2 it was a night to remember for years to come.
I’m glad I was there and would do it again in a heart beat.
Fiona made me feel and I’m sure everyone else there last night as well, that no matter what "Don’t give up".
If you have a dream follow it through.
Well done Fiona your an inspiration to us all.

You know when you lot walked up those stairs I knew I was going to be all right. You know how much I fear public speaking - I mean it's a really uncontrollable and irrational fear as someone might be of spiders or small spaces. I just despair of it and yet I make myself do it as sick as it makes me beforehand because I want to conquer it and stare the beast down...and win.
Having my friendly gang there made it so much easier to deal with.
You're a lovely, generous and incredibly supportive mob. It's me who should be applauding you!
I had a ball. Fx

I do so wish I could have been there too! Oh well, maybe one day I'll get to see that tape of you being interviewed on that TV show.

As Jess has said, I can imagine all those things about Fiona and I must add my applause (

)to the many others here. Fiona, you are one of the few authors who actually takes time to speak to your fans (and to send autographed book plates to some of them

"> ) and of the few authors who do talk to their fans, you actually give the impression that you want to talk to us. For that, I say Cheers
I am looking very forward to a Melbourne signing, when one happens, until then I will sit here and stew in jealously of the others who have met you!

Fiona, I got the bookplate about a month or so ago, don't worry about that. I was trying to point out that you take the time to write on little stickers and send them to readers, unlike some other authors that are lazy and just wait for book signings or don't do them at all!
Sorry if I caused any undue panic!
