Hey there all clubbers,
The competition this month is to come up with a great name for our new club newsletter, and if you're really keen a logo/emblem/arms/mascot... you get the idea

happy hunting

Hmmm... is this club newsletter going to be an electronic version distributed on this site, with contributions from members etc? or just a general/selected update info sheet? Ie - what is the strategic purpose of this proposed info sheet, what are its intended functions to readers/writers, what is the intended format, what will the contents include, and most importantly, does Mr B from Dymocks - our landlord/supporter/partner - have an option to contribute/ direct as well? Hope so - it is good PR to be inclusive of everyone - our benefactor as well as valued members and No1 member Fiona. Will we have a badge and T-shirt as well?

Hail Chaste Goddess of Hearth and Home!!
I'm glad you asked!!!

It is the great hope and dream of the eds that the newsletter will have many wondrous, creative contributions from the many wondrous, creative members of the Fantasy Bookclub! Reviews, Samples of original work, competitions, crosswords, a word from our sponsors, best seller lists and much more!! The submission guidelines should be appearing soon.
The newsletter will be available in print (the photocopy sponsor Gods willing) as well as a .pdf version being available online, thanks to the efforts of ed. Trent. And I'm sure we'd love contributions from board members who can't make it to the club meetings...
Will we have a badge and T-shirt as well? who knows? But, personally, I'm angling for a secret handshake and a glow in the dark ring!!

PS: Does anyone know who the photocopy Gods are? And what small animals I need to sacrifice to get their benevolent attention?

Hail editorial goddess of publish or perish!!!
Photocopy gods may require a membership fee to cover costs. Its user pays these days - hence the joy of online publication or pdf format for members to print off for themselves.
Glow in the dark ring is as good as a secret handshake and better than any handshake
Be well

club rings? we'd better be careful, as it's a fantasy bookclub...
next thing we know, we'd all be poisoning each other with exotic snake venom injecting rings, whilst holding conversations with holographic people projected from other rings... and then summoning magic genies to grant 3 wishes for the whole bookclub, then sending us on outrageous quests...
timidly,

The answer to Amirzand's question is...of course...tequila.
I personally would like a club ring in the shape of :-
- A heart wrapped in a Crown of Thorns...but I'm pretty sure us Catholics have the patent on that one.
- A heart wrapped in a Crown of Barbed-Wire...I'm sure Princess and Tappy would go for that.
- A naked women hanging upside down with here intestines dangling on her chest...works for me.
What do you dudes & dudettes think?

OUCH!!! Thorny issue.....
Lordy - me thinks too much tequila was ingested before the ring designs were created.
Thorns and barbs on a ring - are you sure you want a club ring or a blood transfusion? Watching too much CSI or Crossing Jordan perhaps - or having really bad dreams lately??
Perhaps the outer design could be something more benign - like a celtic twist - and inside you can have what you wish - the lethal touch of thorns etc. That way you wont have to drip blood all over the floor trying to put the ring on or taking it off - or accidently stick a thorn into someone, scratch the furniture, scrape metal surfaces, injure yourself etc...
