Love the gushing, A! Thanks for giving MG a go. I think you're brave trying a new author when you're trapped on a flight but wonderful that it delivered for you. Well I know it's a bit of a long wait but when you get home you'll be able to grab Blood and Memory and Bridge of Souls, both of which will be out by December 1 so you won't be left on any cliffhangers!

Thanks for enjoying Myrren so much and sharing it. It really helps to drive this author.

Tell us about Tokyo - what are you doing there? F

I take my hat off to you Fiona

This book is going to be a classic... I think it is wonderful, marvelous and makes my own work marmoreal.

Myrren is a gem.

Just thought I'd drop a line to say "Well Done Fiona!" :clap2 I finally bought a copy of Myrren's Gift the other day, and as much as I'd like to say I couldn't put it down, I damn well HAD to (work and all, you know how it is). <img src=mg">

However, WORK is the ONLY reason I've put MG down. I'm about halfway through, and I can honestly say, I hate Celimus almost as much as I hated Goth! MG is a gem, and I can't wait for Book 2. Thank you Fiona!

:yes

You may now consider me Very Happy Indeed. :flush

You are so very welcome, Sparhawk! Thank you for your kind and uplifting words. Blood and Memory isn't far away. We're in copy edit now (structural edit done) and I've only got 99,000 words to go on Bridge of Souls and that's only 10 months and 19 days away!

Some thoughts on Myrren's Gift.

MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS OK

I love the bad boys, they are just wonderful and without bad boys the hero's would have nothing to do, I think Goth and Celimus are wonderful, similar yet different. but both very evil in spirt, yummy.

Ok I said it was mean of you to make Wyl plain/ugly, and it was, that poor boy went through so much, but now is he more happier with a good looking face hmmmmm not sure now.

I have about 2 chapters to go, so im nearly done and as im a last page reader (don't stone me ok), Im really there.

It is a really good paced book, I feel that I am able to follow it with ease yet, there is a surprise around the corner, so we are kept guessing what may happen. As for the lack of magic at first when you said this Fiona, I was a little sad, but I have to say its been fine, infact I have not really missed the "so called traditinal stuff" my tasted must be changing. The magic is great infact and in some ways more real, than someone waving a wand around.

I love the quickening, what a bloody good idea, for me that has really made the story. Now he is in a womens body, thats justice really for any man LOL

OK some ideas.

Who thinks the Wyl will at some stage leap into Celimuses body, I do and I hope it happens.

As for the ending I have no idea, all i know is that he cannot go back into his body so who will he end up as, or will his soul finaly find peace and go to Shar.

Anyway I too cannot wait till the next book out, should be fantastic.

Well done.

:moon :moon :moon

SPOILERS FOLLOW THIS MESSAGE, MMMMMMMKAY???

I can see it now, Beau.

1. Celimus will marry Valentyna.
2. Wyl will attempt to rescue Gueryn from Cailech's grasp. He will then be captured by Cailech, who will then execute Wyl personally - cue The Quickening.
3. Cailech (Wyl) will then invade Morgravia, and fight a duel with Celimus. Wyl will deliberately lose this duel, thus taking over Celimus's body.
4. Wyl makes Celimus into a new man, and he and Valentyna live happily ever after.

There's a lot of ground to cover between 1 and 4 (about 2 book's worth, eh Fiona? LOL). It'll be interesting to see now how close I am to how it REALLY turns out.

You may now consider me Awaiting 'Blood and Memory'
with Eager Anticipation. :flush

All right that's enough now you lot! Really. All this speculation. If you don't, someone will think I've stolen your ideas (grin). Now that I'm 55,000 words into book 3, I've clued myself into the ending and I now have a rough idea of how the next 95,000 will shape. Only rough idea mind. Be patient and all will be revealed (big evil laugh of the mwooohahahahahahahahahaha type). Fx

Will Wyl have the will?
That is the question!

Well, no, actually it's not. How will the trilogy end...that's the question.
How the Hell would I know? Fiona's mind's far too evil for an innocent wee soul like what I am to work out.
And has anyone considered that he might become a horse or a hawk (I seem to remember Fiona likes hawks,) along the way? She's twisted enough to do that that, you know!

Adios :hat

So Fiona, without giving anything away has anyone come close with a guess.

yes sparhawk you got me thinking my limited imagination only saw Faryl personally delivering Romen's (yummmm, even his name creates visions of delectable flesh eh? ahem sorry) finger complete with signet ring, to Celimus personally and that complete son of a ...a... Zerque Lover.. won't be able to resist sexy Faryl's seductiveness and while he his languishing devilishly..BAM right in the ribs with the famous blue blade and FAryl is Celimus and then Celimus promptly restores order rescues Gueryn while making friends with Cailech - mmmm but that would only take one book and even i know there are 2 more - so now you guys know i am not a fantasy writer so no worries there fiona eh? i've read mg 3x now and am still refining my knowledge by the way you have good proof writers only found one mistake - just can't you bring out the second book a little bit earlier pleaz............:aqua

Hi J43. Let me know mistake you found. Will have it fixed at next re-print and thanks for picking it up. Don't worry, even my head's going around in circles at the moment, trying to see where this tale is going. I'm one third of the way through final book and so much ground still to cover!

Just finished. Enjoyed it and looking forward to the next book.
I found it harrowing to begin with, in fact it was quite harrowing throughout. I REALLY loathe the celery guy, sorry the Prince's name just keep clicking in as celeric (celery).
Hopefully the next book with let us know why Myrren couldn't use the ift herself.
Thank you Fiona!:red <img src=urple"> :green

If you're interested, AB, for Fiona's book group we are reading Raymond E. Feist's 'Magician', or 'Across The face Of The World', by Russell Kirkpatrick.

You may now consider my suggestion Made. :flush
