I got stuck into book 3, Bridge of Souls, today.
Feels great to be creating rather than editing but also daunting as I stare at the long haul ahead towards around 150,000 words.
Ah well, (sigh) only 130,000 to go!
For all of those who keep tabs, Blood and Memory's second draft is complete and was delivered to the publisher yesterday.

Which means you wrote 20 000 words in one day!!???
Wow. I feel so inferior!
Best of luck with it ( not that you'll need it of course.)
Darren.

No! (laughing)...sorry, that was definitely ambiguous. I had quietly begun with Bridge of Souls but hadn't really felt like I was working on it because of Myrren's launch and huge edit for Blood and Memory. Having cleared my desk of all book 2 paraphernalia and brought book 3 to front of mind and premium position on the desktop it felt like I was finally focusing on it.
I did write about 4000 words that day so it was brisk but nothing like 20,000!
Down to 125,000 to go. Tragic, arent I, to keep such a close watch on word count but it helps to motivate me when I see that tally dropping daily.

Ah, ok I understand. Phew, you had me staggered there for a while! Still, 4000 a day is a pretty brisk pace too.

Princess - Blood and Memory second draft being read by HC now. My editor and her team have already read it once and like it so I don't have to chew my fingernails down on that level. We have, however, made one particular major structural change and that's really what they're looking at now. Fingers crossed they're happy.
