I've been infrequent at the Board lately, I know. Just so that you can be assured I'm not lazing out in the glorious Autumn weather which Adelaide is enjoying, here's where I'm up to and what's been soaking the time amongst my day job and family...
Myrren's Gift re-write and final draft delivered to HarperCollins this week. So far, so good, publisher sounds happy with my 27,000 words added.
I'm 70,000 words into Blood and Memory (halfway) with a plan to have that ms ready in first draft for end of June latest.
Book 2 of any series is always the hardest and this one is no exception, although I'm rather intrigued where it's taking me.
Today, since 10 am I wrote just under 3000 words - it's still only 2.10 pm so I guess no rest for the wicked. Let's push for 4000 before pick up from school!
As you know I'm working alongside an aspiring writer (he's known to you all!) and pushing him hard to be the very best he can. I'm also now reading throught the stories which Librarian has sent to me for judging. She is running a wonderful fantasy competition. Lots of talent out there.
I promise, I am busy as a bee. Have a great weekend everyone. F

Fantastic, Fiona!
I promise I'll be the first overseas customer to buy your book when it comes out!

27,000 added? Wow! Usually, editors want to cut out, not add!

Happy for you that things are going well.

Congrats Fiona, I'd say I'll be your first customer in Victoria but somehow I think I may well tie with the many other Victorians who have enjoyed your writing.
Looking forward to it hugely!

Looks like I'll have to reserve my copy.....many of my friends are now addicted to Tor and Goth.....hmmmm, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to let them read my copies.

Just about to march deliriously across the 100,000 word mark - then it's an hysterical gallop towards the end. I'm working on 140,000 but it could blow out like Myrren to 170,000.
Thanks all, for the support. Fx
