HarperCollins likes Myrren's Gift very much - enough to move towards acquiring the rights for this new trilogy I'm writing. Hooray!!!!!
It's not finalised yet as deals take a while to sort out but I've got the thumbs up from the people who count so that's the main battle won.
The aim will be to publish book one for late winter 2003. I know, I know...ages eh?
Very excited. Time to settle down and finish Blood and Memory now as very soon I shall find myself in the often mad editing process.

Thats what we admire most about you DN.
The fact that, despite provocation, you are able to keep such derogatory comments to yourself and do not feel the need to let the whole world know.
Clearly you are a firm believer in the saying "if you have nothing good to say, say nothing".

If you ask whether a question is rhetorical, is that answering the question and therefore ensuring that the question is not rhetorical? Or is it in fact a rhetorical question in its own right.
This is a real conundrum for me. I don't know whether to answer your seemingly rhetorical answer to my rhetorical question, or not!
Now I'm going to worry about it all day long when I should be concentrating on auditing work.

Jess, take my word for it all your accounting books will be worthless once you finish studying. You'll never use them again. Not even the legislation ones.
However you should keep them and claim them as a reference library tax deduction when you start working. Once you've written them down to nothing throw them away.

Congratulations Fiona that is great, and well deserved, news.
Although I'm not sure about the eight month wait for book one. Surely we can work something out for your devoted, and local, readers!
