The physical size of the book is bigger in the U.S. - looks fabulous. Cover brilliant too - using the main artwork of Aussie Myrren without the border and generally ramping up the size of Cailech's fortress. It's very impressive. I'll bring along a copy to the Club but will get my son to scan the cover so we can post here in case anyone's interested. The UK version will be entirely different cover-wise. Orbit is keen to promote fantasy as mainstream - yeehar - and so its covers will go with imagery that doesn't scream fantasy but will lure all those who just love a great story. Wish it luck! I'll post a pic as soon as I receive some art.

Well, according to Amazon.com it will be released in April 2005 and they are already taking forward orders - discount price of $10.47 plus postage. Given the change in textual content, additional design for chapters and new cover design - I ordered a copy and was the first person to leave a review etc. heh heh :yes So - dear Aussie readers - please logon to Amazon.com and leave a review so that potential buyers see exactly how we all luv da book/s.:yes :gold

I've been informed that I'm Fiona's fist US fan - rest assured that many more will follow. I'm a bookseller in the States who just finished Myrren's Gift the other day and now I can't wait to hand it to all my customers. I'm not sure exactly when Harper is going to ship - according to what I've been told by my rep it will be sometime late March but when it does - look out US! In the last few years Aussie writers have become increasingly popular here in the States and I'm excited to see Fiona join their ranks soon. I'll keep everyone informed on how the books are doing here from the perspective of a ground soldier. Cheers all! (I just hope Harper releases the Trinity trilogy over here before too long...) Here's a rough scan of the workin US edtion cover for those interested. :wave

Hey, jcassy, welcome to the......club? If you liked the first book, Myrren's Gift, then you're sure to love books 2 and 3 as well (you might not want to read some of the other posts, in case of spoilers). I can assure you that the Trinity is just as excellent reading material. Enjoy reading the reast of the series.

Spread the word our first US fan - well done. I ordered the book last August on Amazon and noted yesterday that they are listing book 2 for release in August 2005 - Blood and Memory. Luv the art work - is it a book cover or known fantasy story/book? Meantime - if you visit Amazon leave a review - I wrote one at the time of order but it seems to have dropped off - will rewrite of course...:yes :yes :yes

I just got Myrren's Gift as a First Look book from Harper Collins and it is so good! I'm so glad it's been published in the US and I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy. I may have my sister's finance send me the second book from Australia (he lives in Adelaide).

Welcome - are you US fan number 2? How lucky are you to get an early edition - great given that you will now spread the word to others of course - yes? We want Princess Fiona to hit the US top 10 list next March/April when the book is released there. There are 2 books available for you if you canot wait - Blood and memory and Bridge of Souls. What made this book a winner for you. I'm interested because you are not from Australia and it would be interesting to hear what ignites your enthusiasm for Myrrens Gift. Do the same things apply for us here as for you etc??? Meantime - have you read Robert newcomb or Steven Erikson? :gold

Little update: The date for Myrren's gift that I've heard bouncing around is March 15, so just about 1 month left before Fiona's big US debut. :yes Also the US cover for Blood & Memory will follow the same lines as Myrren's Gift - same artwork as the Aussie but without the border. If anyone gets morbidly curious I'll scan the advanced copy I got a few days ago. :duck

It is now official - our store got our initial shipment of Myrren's Gift this past Monday...we're already down to one copy left, assuming no one sells it before I go back in this afternoon. Congrats to Fiona on her official US launch. (Now if only I could get HarperCollins to send me that easel so I could do a display....) :brick
