Thanks A, thanks Beau - you really don't have to do this but supremely generous and writing a review is terrific, thank you. I wonder if you'll pick any of the subtle edits? x

Hmmm... subtle and American - oxymoron me thinks. Nevertheless, from memory the word 'gotten' is an essential part of the US language. Will be interesting to read - in May/June 2005 - just to see what changes the US publishers insist is essential for the US market.
Meantime wonder what the UK publishers are doing... :flame :flame :flame :flame

Thanks Jase. Very grateful.
U.S. is basically tightening up everything - it's a good edit with some additions like gotten, yes, and center but I did squirm at the use of The Old Plow and begged that I be allowed to keep The Old Plough and my lovely editorial team in New York agreed.
As for UK, it's taking the Australian version for obvious reasons in language but using the map from the American version.
Re artwork - American is using a big version of the Myrren you know but has added a new dimension to the Memory you know in Australia. We have no idea yet what they'll do about Bridge but I presume they'll go with same art to keep the continuity going. There are no borders on the American version.
In the UK, Orbit will be doing its own thing on art and apparently I'll be able to view the rough in the next week. Very exciting. The plan is to try and encourage more mainstream buyers to read fantasy and so I think a whole gang of us new titles will be re-worked artwise to appeal to mainstream readers. It's going to be very interesting.
I'll keep you posted. Remind me to scan the American cover and put it up on the Board. I'll get my son to do it because I'm hopeless the minute you mention pdfs and jpegs, etc. I just glaze over.

Hey, Fiona...don't forget to scan the American cover and put it up on the Board. (Why don't you get your son to do it?)
What?
You asked me to remind you.
Adios
