I picked up Myrren's gift in the bookstore, read it, fell in love with the story then found out - much to my disappointment that the second book wasn't quite out yet, but was to be published soon. In the meantime, I bought the Trinity series and fell in love with Tor, Alyssa, and the rest of the gang. I got my girlfriend to read Betrayal, and she fell in love with Saxon...but she's not the greatest with books - buying them and reading them - so she's got no idea of everything that happens further than Betrayal.
Then I bought Blood and Memory a few days before it was offically put on shelves and devoured it. I got my friend to read His Dark Materials, then forced upon him Myrren's Gift. He loved it, some of the quotes and things regarding Wyl's first meeting with Valentyna and such. He bought Blood and Memory and returned to me my copy of Myrren's Gift.
I decided to re-read it and immerse myself with Wyl and Romen again. Imagine my surprise when I came across a brief mention of 'King Gyl and his wife Lauryn'. I'd never picked up on it before because I'd read Myrren before Trinity series.
I always love the way authors weave thier stories together.

Thanks so much for the praise - it goes without saying that I'm thrilled you've enjoyed the books and really pleased that you gave them a go.
You know I spent a lot of time thinking about whether to include a mention of Tallinor. It had always been in my mind that Morgravia and Briavel were across an ocean but basically 'down the road' as I envisaged the same scenery and the Razors feel as though they're an extension of the Rorkyel Mountains. I'm glad I did now because it does link smoothly and does give a comforting feeling to readers who know the previous series.
thank your friend too for enjoying the books. Talk soon - F

I read Myrren first too, and i didnt pick up the connection till i read Blood and Memory. (probably partly beacuse of a gap between reading myrren, and Trinity).
but when i did notice, kind of had a 'smile in my mind' kind of thing happen (that's the best i can describe it, i think)
(that is a lot of kind of's in one sentence! lol)

I think you'll prefer Fiona's books to your homework.

Ummm yes I do prefer Fiona’,s books when compared to my homework. So much so that I read instead of doing it. But as I am doing a professional writing and editing course, I told my teacher how good I think the books are and she gave me till the 9th of December to get the assignments done. I did also bribe her and say I would lend her Betrayal- maybe that helped? Which is the better series- the Trinity or the Quickening?
See ya
PS- I brought Blood & Memory today!
