Hi from Sydney! I popped into my local Dymocks last Friday to check when I could pick my copy up - AND WAS TOLD LATE NEXT YEAR!!!!! After I stopped crying I suggested the nice young girl check again BECAUSE SHE WAS WRONG , but no....... sorry, nothing she could do. Don't people know what it is like to be addicted? Any way, popped into my other local Dymocks (now my FAVOURITE) on MONDAY - and lo and behold..... a whole shelf full. Had it read by Tuesday... and what a ride....... There are so many things I have loved about this series - obviously the characters - warm, real, vibrant, funny, loveable, likeable, some despicable... The women were the heart and soul of the book for me. The landscape, environment, connection to nature was lovely.... The story line / adventure was just great.... but like I said to my hubby, put me in a cardboard box with Wyl, Fynch and the gang and I would have fun.... (especially with Cailech) (and Romen) (and Crys) FIONA, wonderful, thanyou muchly.

Late next year!!!!!!!~ she shrieked. aha they're thinking of the launch of Percheron, which is December 2005. Anyway Oddpod - love that name - I'm thrilled you got your copy from the new favourite Dymocks and even more hysterically happy that you enjoyed the journey. It was a rollercoaster for me too as I never know where I'm going. Thanks again for enjoying it. So....just 12 months to go then eh? :P

Yeah, that's what happened to my friend. She went into Collins and asked for Bridge of Souls and the Virgin's Lover - and the chick said they had neither in. So she went and looked in Angus and Robertson, but couldn't find them either and had no time to ask. And I walk into Dymocks a day later, and the first book I see is the Virgin's Lover, and I turn around and there is a whole shelf of the trilogy staring up at me. Was beautiful.

I am seriously thinking about never starting an unfinished series again...... For the past six months I have been caught at the end of THREE series, and it has been killing me. I don't like my chances though when I see the first of the next series on the shelf.... oh man... What do you all do? Be patient? Have ten series on the go all at once? Wait till the series is out? Play scrabble? Hibernate? Write your own stuff? Get a job? (in my case actually GO to my job), study? I sound like a loser. Do I sound like a loser? I do have a life, and I do like it...... I think I am still just reeling from how good The Quickening was.

Have ten trilogies going at once. *nods firmly* That's what I've done. From the release of Blood and Memory in June, I've read so many damn books - I can't go into a bookstore without buying one, unless I have no money, which presents a problem. And has been happening more often of late. But I've instructed myself that the next series I start is the Liveship Traders trilogy by Fiona's dear Robin Hobb. And I have no money to buy them. And my local library is no use. Bah.

:lmao i have so many tilogies going, not to mention SERIES (which can [and do] consist of up to TEN books currently) or even just novels. lol my floor is littered with like..counts books...15 books at the moment, and there like First books of series whatever, or 2 book of whatever. So don't go complaining about how many books your reading, cause i bet i'm reading more than most of you put together. (did i over do that? sorry but i'm attempting to process the information of many books at a time, which i can usually finish in a matter of days)

Thank you all for such uplifting comments. I'm about the shut the door on the draft of Percheron - hooray. Love the notion of letting it ferment over Christmas and then I'll revisit it for final read through in January before sending to the publisher.
