Hi everyone! :) Am new to this forum, just joined tonight- couldn't help but do so after finding this place! Just have to say that I loved reading The Quickening- the plot was so original and different, and the characters were nifty and so much fun to read about! (With exceptions ,made for ,some of the nasty, evil characters, of course!) I believe that it has now joined the ranks of my favourite series... which mostly seem to be fantasy written by Australian authors and published by Voyager, for some reason. Also read the Trinity trilogy before that- I loved that too, but I think I still prefer the Quickening. ,)

Am waiting in anticipation to check out the school library tomorrow, since that is when term starts again, to see if I can locate Odalisque- though since they have been depriving their shelves of good new fantasy for a while, I suppose I might just have to find another library to investigate instead! Or I might just have to make an /attempt/ (which may or may not be very successful!) ,not to think about books for a while so I can concentrate on school, and wait for the summer holidays to go attacking more books. I wish holidays were longer so I could get more books read in them... ,)

Welcome Lilifiel (nice name)....thanks for enjoying the books so much and perhaps wait until November 1 to see if the library is getting the book in - Odalisque doesn't actually publish officially until October 26, and will launch 27th and then probably take a few weeks to filter out into libraries. Hope you enjoy it! Have a good term. I've just dropped my two sons off for their first day back - both groaning of course because 4th term means exams! F

Thank you for the welcome! Will count the days till Odalisque is officially published then, I think I thought it was out already because did you bring it along to the book club this month? And I checked the school library today- much shock and horror was had! I searched the bookshelves and searched the catalogue, but not a single book by you could I find!! (Though many books by other great authors cannot be found there either- maybe the librarians don't like fantasy much? Or maybe they are just hoarding all the great fantasy books for themselves!!)
